Project Description
SustainGroup delivered a solar mini-grid system for Mthembanji Village in the Dedza Region of Malawi. The project was designed to provide reliable, off-grid electricity to a rural community, supporting access to clean power for households and local productive-use activities.
The system combines 10.62 kWp of solar PV with 40 kWh of battery storage, packaged into a compact 20 ft containerised solution. Designed for remote deployment, the mini-grid provides a practical and scalable energy platform for communities that are not connected to dependable grid infrastructure.
By delivering clean, decentralised power to Mthembanji Village, the project supports improved energy access, reduced reliance on traditional energy sources, and stronger local resilience. This installation demonstrates SustainGroup’s experience in deploying modular solar and battery systems for rural electrification across Africa.
