BESS for Eye Radio in South Sudan

In partnership with Aptech Africa, SustainGroup delivered an off-grid energy storage system for Eye Radio in Juba, South Sudan. The project was designed to support reliable power availability for a critical communications operation in a region where stable electricity access can be challenging.

The system was housed in a 40 ft container and equipped with 125 kWh of battery storage, providing a robust and modular energy solution for off-grid operation. By integrating battery storage into a containerised platform, the installation was designed to improve energy resilience, reduce operational risk, and support continuous power for essential radio and broadcasting activities.

This project reflects SustainGroup’s ability to deliver practical, pre-installed energy systems for productive-use applications across Africa. The containerised design supports faster deployment, simplified logistics, and dependable power for organisations that require resilient energy infrastructure in remote or grid-constrained environments.
